Wish You Were Here! The 2013 Retreat Recap

It began with a yearning for community - for a way to connect with Georgetown colleagues and friends for the small group of alumni and faculty who live in Northern New England.

Along the way we found that being together, in person, was fun and fulfilling. We also recognized that many of us live far away from the Georgetown center of gravity in Washington, DC.
The vision has grown into intimate gatherings in beautiful places around the world with an invitation to disconnect from the stress of ‘real life’ and reconnect to the Georgetown magic; to relax and enjoy beautiful surroundings, great food, and time in nature; to reenergize your coaching through peer-led learning experiences; to make new and deeper connections with those who have shared the Georgetown experience.

We create 2 and 3 day retreats. We keep the costs low by using our own talent and keeping things simple. We create programs that offer up to 8 core competency CEUs while providing fun, adventure and relaxation.

Maine - 2012, 2013

For two years, we've gathered at the Newagen Seaside Inn on the coast of Maine for the New England Retreat. The venue is perfect - green lawn, white lawn chairs, ocean views, island vistas and starry night skies.  Just walking into this quintessential New England inn starts the relaxation and fun.  The groups are small - about 15 people - just the right size to have the opportunity to talk to each person during the retreat.

We had activities that are relaxing (yoga), stimulating (the Polar Plunge), fun (Finger Painting), reflective (Haiku poetry). We allow free time for adventures of your own (hiking, shopping, hot tubbing).  And, of course, there is learning too. We learned to be more present, to notice body and emotion, to allow for self-care and the divine connection in our coaching.

We'll be in Newagen again next year. Please plan to join us August 19-21, 2014.

As I left yesterday and was driving home,
I felt as if I was leaving a beautiful cocoon of love and joy …
I felt light, beautiful, confirmed and in love.

I miss you all this morning and I love you. With deep gratitude forever, Alex

Santa Fe - 2013

The first-ever Western retreat was held in Santa Fe, New Mexico in early October. The aspens were turning to gold, the air was clear, dry and warm.  In the small, intimate group of eight old friendships were revived, and new ones were kindled. We enjoyed the community of awesome coaches, a varied program of interesting topics, and the chance to see some of the sights of Santa Fe.

The highlight just may have been the opening blessing delivered by the Governor of the Picuris Indian Pueblo, in his traditional dress, although the walking tour of the historic plaza area led by a local expert was surely a close second.

The venue – the Hotel Santa Fe – was very welcome and most accommodating to our group.  The consensus was that we should do it again next year, and so we will!

We invite all alumni and faculty - especially those of you who call the West your home - to join us September 30 - October 2, 2014!

I grew. relaxed, felt nurtured. Such wonderful time spent with remarkable women. As the one person who arrived knowing no one, I felt welcomed. Am so glad to have spent the three days with all of you. Wendy
